Today we were able to help our customer out before their holiday party. They had family and guests coming in from all over the country and wanted to make their home look and feel welcomed. Their home is a beautiful stone and brick home in Ashburn, Virginia.
Although their home was beautiful during the day, it virtually disappeared in the evening. The unfortunate thing is their party started after 5:00, which as we all know, in December it is as dark as can. Even more challenging was the thought of sending guests home with flash lights so they can find their way down the steps, down the driveway, and out to their car.
Our mission was to use lighting to accent the front of the home to make it feel warm and welcoming, provide indirect lighting so guests can easily find their way in and out, and highlight some of the landscape. We started with an even spacing of lights across the home. We set each light at 650 lumens in order to really make the house pop. Since this was a corner house, we chose eight maple trees the surrounding the the property.
